IN THE STUDIO

Over the past couple of years, my approach to dance and movement in general has really shifted. Leaving behind ideas of ‘chasing’ or ‘becoming’, I’ve decided to spend time really moving from the moment - from where I’m at instead of where I hope to be. For some time, this meant not moving at all…really allowing it all to drop away in order to listen for the next moves.

I am currently spending some time alone in the studio sorting through some new and old ideas. The ideas come in the form of written text, gestures, and dance. I am hoping to string little bits and pieces together to build and offer a live performance work at some point….

WRITING

I enjoy writing without structure. In a format such as this, where I feel as if I have to clearly explain or convey something, I often feel clumsy and unclear. Where it all seems to make sense is when I just let the words spill out of my body and sometimes they become shapes reminiscent of other things; such as poetry or dialogue. My exploration through writing is ongoing and I’m really enjoying finding new ways to play with it through my movement and acting practices.

I’ve started a Substack - which has been in flux. I start.. I stop, and I start again. Link below if you’re interested in the flow of inconsistency.

I have also started writing personal poems for people. It is incredibly fulfilling and fun - maybe you’d like a poem? You will find more information on that on the

[ just for you ] tab above.
